Canadian Fleet

Welcome to the Canadian Fleet of
the Classic Yacht Association.

The Canadian Fleet of the Classic Yacht Association is the newest fleet, having been formed in 2008. There are currently 30 members of the fleet with vessels ranging in age from the 1913 classic Charles H. Cates to the vintage 1952 Chris Craft, Gin Fizz.

The formation of the new fleet was led by International Rear Commodore Mike O'Brien from Victoria, and Pacific North West fleet Staff Commodore, Canada, Bob Shaw from Vancouver.

Membership in the Canadian fleet is open to all residents of Canada who are owners of Classic or Vintage yachts as defined in the CYA by-laws.

Canadian Fleet Events

Burrard Yacht Club Classic Boat and Car Show, North Vancouver

Fleet: Canadian, Pacific Northwest

Friday June 8 – Saturday June 9, 2012
Here is a great invitation to attend a great event. Especially attractive is the associated permission to use the Burrard Club’s out-stations at Ekins Point on Gambier Island, and the Clementine up Indian Arm two days prior to and two days after the show.

  • Vessels are to arrive on Friday with a meet and greet barbecue Friday. Vessels are asked to be open to the public on Saturday June 9th between 1000 to 1600 hours. Registration will be available on the club's website www.burrardyachtclub.com.
     
  • In the near future, as in past years security and hydro will be supplied by the club. Participants will also be permitted the use of the outstations 2 days prior to and after the show. These are located at Ekins Point on Gambier Island and the Clementine up Indian Arm.
     
  • On behalf of the Burrard Yacht Club a warm welcome is extended to all PNW vessels. – Dave Cook (Alondra)

Telegraph Marina Rendezvous

Fleet: Canadian, Pacific Northwest

August 8-9, 2012

  • This summer, the Canfleet will gather for an informal get-together on the 8th and 9th of August (mid-week) at the Telegraph Harbour Marina on Thetis Island. This event is in addition to our usual Brentwood rendezvous prior to the Victoria Classic Boat Show (see below}. As always, members of the PNW fleet will be more than welcome.
     
  • Cost at Telegraph Bay is $1.30 ft. per night, plus $6.00 for 15 amp or $8.00 for 30 amp power.
     
  • The amenities at this very sheltered marina are good and the owners have promised us a warm welcome.

Pre-Victoria Rendezvous at Brentwood Bay
