2012 Swap Meet and Auction

It’s time once again for our most important fundraising event of the year.  In effort to shake things up, we have established an exciting new format, with a swap meet, social hour, and smaller auction in the early evening.  The event will take place on Saturday, April 14^th, 2012 at the Ballard Auction Company, 837 NW 49^th St., Ballard, owned by Fleet member Jon Bengtsson (Miss Rolco).

Jon has graciously agreed to serve as host and and Auctioneer.  The swap meet will open to the public at 1:00PM, and close at 5:00PM.   We will then take a one-hour break for a social hour with hearty potluck hors d'oeuvres and wine.   Please bring a dish to pass and a bottle of wine or other beverage to share.  The auction will start promptly at 6:00PM and be limited to 40 to 50 higher-quality items.  If you have something to donate, with a value exceeding $100, please contact us by email using the attached donation sheet, so we can consider it for the live auction.  Since this event will be open to the public, it will be a good opportunity to offer cruises aboard our classic yachts.  Once again, donations are not limited to nautical items, and can include antiques, furniture, Ferrarri’s, mink coats or anything else of value.  The swap meet should be fun and easy, just load any items of value into a box and bring them with you.  We would ask that you consider putting a fair price on each piece, to save us time during setup.  If you are unsure about a value, we will set one when you arrive.  Once again, the swap meet is not limited to nautical items so bring anything of value that someone may be interested in.  Please arrive no later than noon on Saturday to allow time to set up for the Swap Meet.

Please feel free to invite any and all of your friends.  There is a JPG flyer posted below which you can print out and post in visible areas or distribute in person.  It has been designed in black and white so it can be printed on colored paper. There is ample parking in the area around the auction house and plenty of room to display the items, so please pitch in and help us make this an exciting and rewarding event.  Please contact us should you have any questions or concerns.
