South Sound Cruise

A relaxing ten-day cruise in protected water with great friends, handsome boats, delicious food, and natural beauty everywhere is planned for this summer. Come on South!
We'll start the cruise at the Des Moines Marina on Friday, July 20 with a catered dinner, then we’ll take advantage of Saturday’s car and boat show (10:00 – 4:00) and the subsequent parade.
As an alternate to Saturday’s festivities, hove off to Wollochet Bay – but be careful with the tides!
Thereafter, tentative destinations include:
- Longbranch Marina over July 22 with a front-row view of Mt. Rainier reflected across Filucy Bay. And while we’re there, why not visit beautiful Penrose Point State Park dock (depending on tide height)
- Jarrell's Cove State Park docks (an all-time favorite for most of us); maybe take in Oakland Bay/Shelton or Fair Harbor Marina (with a quaint gift shop, fuel dock, groceries;
- On July 27th we'll arrive at Percival Landing with side trips to Boston Harbor and Swantown Marina.
- We'll end the week on Saturday, July 29th, with reservations either at Arabella's Landing Marina in Gig Harbor or at the new Foss Harbor Marina at the head of the Foss Waterway in Tacoma.
PLUS: We're working on organizing a tour of the Trillium Creek Winery!
If you're planning on attending any part of this ten-day cruise, please contact James Poirson, 425.483.1583 (poirsonj@hotmail.com), ASAP and detailed information will be sent to you. Bring cameras, bring joy, come on along!
With hiking and kayaking and dinghy sailing and marine wildlife and birds and chatting and napping and reading and eating, what could be more relaxing and/or more fun? We'll stay at each location for two nights so we'll have a chance to explore and rest to our heart's content.
