SOUTHERN SALISH SEA GRAND TOUR

If you like the South Sound or if you have never been down that way, then here is a cruising opportunity that you should not miss.  See the the fabulous agenda below, coordinated by Ken Meyer.

For those of you who are not familiar with the term 'SALISH SEA" please note that it is a very large body of water that extends from Olympia in the South - all the way up to just beyond Desolation Sound to the North. (The name Salish Sea has been officially recognized by American and Canadian geographical boards.)

This cruise covers some often neglected, but breathtakingly beautiful cruising grounds, and we're especially excited this year to show off these waters to our Canadian friends, since we are so often the recipients of their hospitality when we cruise north.

Itinerary:

Prepare your boats and calendars for this year's Salish Sea South Sound Cruise beginning in Longbranch July 15th and ending in Des Moines on Friday July 20 where we will connect with the fleet for the Des  Moines Waterfront Festival July 20 through Sunday July 23.

The planned cruise will begin the afternoon of Sunday, July 15th in Longbranch at the marina with a Sunday afternoon hamburger fry at the waterfront home of member Mike Wollaston ( NON-CHALANT, SEA WITCH, NW PROPULSION MUSEUM). Monday through Thursday we will cruise a yet to be determined route with possibilities that include Olympia, Jarrell Cove, Oro Bay, Gig Harbor, Quartermaster Harbor, and Tacoma Marina. The Friday July 20th destination will be the Des Moines Waterfront Festival (hosted by Bill and Patti Linscott; SUNSHINE).  Activities, there, for the remaining weekend will be a pot luck dinner, car show, boat show and street fair.

Whether you can attend the cruise and the festival, both or in part, please let me know. Register separately with Ken Meyer for the cruise and Bill and Patti Linscott for the DesMoines Classic Car and Boat Festival.   I will be updating the event as we firm up destinations.
