Summer Gunkholing in the Islands Cruise
Hey kids -- this is what it's all about! Come on along as we sail the Salish Sea and meander through the glorious San Juan and Gulf Islands. Vice Commodore Diane VanDerbeek has put together a fabulous itinerary that promises to be the cruise of the year.
Tentative Outline:
- Friday, August 27: Meet at Ganges at the Salstpring Marina (at the north end of the harbour.) Make reservations at info@saltspringmarina.com or 800-334-6629.
- Saturday, August 28th: Saturday market, Ganges shopping, progressive dinner on the dock. Volunteers needed - we need one boat to do appetizers, another to do salad (easy with Saturday market ingredients), Olympus will do main course, and another boat to do dessert.
- Sunday, August 29th: We will leave Ganges for a gorgeous bay on Prevost Island (Glenthorne Passage), where Kurt and Marsha Erickson have invited us to anchor and enjoy their beautiful bay (and their beautiful fast runabout the "Hokey Pokey".) The evening will feature a massive Dungeness Crab Feed!
- Monday, August 30th: Off to Montague Harbor, where we will go to Julia Island where Diane VanDerbeek's friends Fred & Rennae Woodard have invited us to their beautiful 12 acre private family island for a crab feed and picnic.
- Tuesday, August 31 - Mystery Day!
- Wednesday, September 1: We will join the Canadian Fleet of the CYA for a rendezvous at Brentwood Bay. Separate moorage arrangements required - contact Mike O'Brien.
Thursday, September 2 - On to the Victoria Classic Boat show. Register at www.classicboatfestival.ca/
- Friday, September 3 - Canadian Ladies Day - Diane VanDerbeek will take the ladies for a fabulous tour around Victoria while the guys are getting the boats ready for the weekend.
- Monday, September 6 - Olympus will carry on to Deer Harbor and the Port Townsend festival. Anyone who wants to accompany Olympus can continue to do so but the CYA Cruise will be over at this point.

This event is organized by the Pacific Northwest Fleet with a warm invitation extended to the Canadian Fleet to join us for this wonderful event. Please contact PNW Vice Commodore Diane VanDerbeek for more information.
