Non CYA Event

OPENING DAY 2014 IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!  This year’s theme is “Toys Ahoy.”
Opening Day is on Saturday, May 3, 2014.

We are anticipating a large turnout of beautiful classic yachts from the Classic Yacht Association.  Be there!  To participate in the Parade, you must register for free at the Seattle Yacht Club website!  To register, go to and click on the Opening Day link. Parade registration closes on April 24, so register now!  If you want to moor your boat on Dock Zero – this requires a separate registration which closes April 3.  Note these deadlines and be sure to get registered!  Dock Zero can provide moorage for boats 60’ and smaller but word at the yacht club is that over 100 boats have signed up for Dock Zero already so register NOW.

We need a volunteer to host the CYA party which is usually on Friday night.  If you are interested in hosting a BYOB and bring an appetizer cocktail party on your boat contact Diane Lander 206-919-5099 and/or  If you have questions about Opening Day contact Diane Lander.

Note:  This year the Wilson Seamanship Team will consist of all classic yachts who are members of Seattle Yacht Club.  The team will be lead by Olympus and a number of the other large fantails will be in attendance as well as many classic boats from SYC.  This large fleet will reduce the number of yachts in the two categories we usually enter – Classic Power 40’ and over; and Classic Power 40’ and Under.  So get out  your varnish and sign up now – you have a better chance than ever to bring home some hardware!
